Set Boundaries, Find Peace promises to help readers end the struggle, speak up for what you need, and experience the freedom of being truly yourself. We spoke with author Nedra Glover Tawwab about the inspiration for Set Boundaries, Find Peace, her favorite activities to accompany audiobook-listening, and more!
“This is the boundary bible. Nedra teaches us not only how to set healthy boundaries but to be clear about our feelings and intentions. Finding peace requires showing up—Nedra has written the blueprint on how to not only show up but also do the work.”Alexandra Elle, author of After the Rain
Please tell us a little bit about what inspired you to write this book and how this story took shape for you.
After 14 years of being a therapist, I was ready to share how I’ve used boundaries to help my clients. I see establishing healthy boundaries as an essential part of improving our mental health and relationships.
In two sentences or less, what’s something that might surprise Libro.fm listeners about your audiobook?
I had no clue the level of detail that goes into reading an audiobook.
Have you listened to your own audiobook?
My book’s recording happened recently, and I have not had the chance yet to listen to my book in its entirety.
Are you an audiobook listener? What are some of your favorite audiobooks?
Yes. Currently, I’m listening to Just As I Am by Cicely Tyson. I love listening to biographies and fiction.
What have independent bookstores and/or booksellers meant to you personally and professionally?
Supporting independent bookstores supports the community—it’s beautiful being able to talk to a store-owner about the books they handpicked to sell. [They] own bookstores because they love books, and that passion shows in what they recommend and how they talk about books.
Anything else to share with us?
As an avid reader, audiobooks have become a fantastic way to read more. I can read while cooking, cleaning, or typing notes.
