Meet a Bookseller: Leah Grover

It’s Meet a Bookseller Monday, and we’re proud to introduce bookseller Leah Grover of Bards Alley in Vienna, Virginia!

How did you get into bookselling?

I’ve always wanted to be a bookseller, and I’m so lucky that Jen (owner of Bards Alley) took a chance on me!

What do you love most about being a bookseller?

I love finding the upper middle grade/lower YA crossover books. Ages 13-15 are such a unique time, and they deserve to be highlighted (as do the readers in that age group!).

What do you love most about your bookstore?

The staff! We have a really dedicated, fun team of booksellers, and every shift is sure to be full of giggles and bonding.

What are you listening to right now?

I’m actually between books right now, but I’m on the hunt for the next great listen! I’m dying to get my hands (ears?) on the audio of Gail Carson Levine’s Fairest, so maybe that will be the one.

What audiobooks would you recommend or are among your favorites?

The Scorpio Races is a favorite among most of our staff! We’re particularly fond of the voice actor who plays Sean Kendrick (swoon!).

Where / when do you listen to audiobooks?

My husband does a lot of driving for work, and I go with him when I can. I definitely prefer a good audiobook to a mediocre podcast, or the millionth listen to a song that we have different opinions on.

What is your favorite thing about audiobooks through Libro.fm?

That getting audiobooks through Libro supports indies, of course!

What do you do when you’re not selling books?

Reading, running the store’s social media, or hanging out with my husband and our friends!
