Meet a Bookseller: Natasha Ford

Happy Monday! We’re excited to introduce Natasha Ford, bookseller at BookPeople in Austin, Texas.

How did you get into bookselling?

I wanted a job in the book industry, and BookPeople happened to be hiring when I was looking for a job. I wanted to see the other side of the book world before going into publishing, but ended up loving bookselling! I can’t imagine doing anything else.

What do you love most about being a bookseller?

I love when I’m describing a book to a customer and I see their face light up, because then I know they’ll love the book as much as I did. It’s the most fun to see with children.

What do you love most about your bookstore?

I love the freedom I have at BookPeople to really express myself and have an area of expertise.

What are you listening to right now?

The Surface Breaks by Louise O’Neill

What audiobooks would you recommend or are among your favorites?

Cursed by Frank Miller and Thomas Wheeler, Nocturna by Maya Montayne, and Ordinary Girls by Blair Thornburgh.

Where / when do you listen to audiobooks?

I mostly listen to audiobooks in my car while I’m commuting or driving long distances, but I’ve also been known to listen to them while cleaning my apartment.

What is your favorite thing about audiobooks through Libro.fm?

I love the diverse list of books I’ve been able to listen to since I started using Libro.fm.

What do you do when you’re not selling books?

I love reading (gotta stay on top of those YA trends), yoga, and snuggling with my schnorkie, Bodhi.
