Thank you for sharing your #audiobookswitch stories on social media. Thank you for telling your friends and family about Libro.fm. Thank you for everything you did to make Prime Day about community and people, rather than about sales and convenience. We’ve officially broken the record for the most memberships started over a two-day period in the history of Libro.fm, and we surpassed the number of memberships sold on Bookstore Day 2019.
This is what happens when we rally together behind something we believe in: we change the world!
Here are a few of our favorite moments from Prime Day:
Bookseller Kales listed indies that you can support in every state. Yes, EVERY state.
Dr. Prescod-Weinstein let everyone know that when you love audiobooks, but not Amazon, Libro.fm has you covered!
MLB player Sean Doolittle has made it his goal to visit an indie bookstore each city he travels to this season. He gave Libro.fm a shout-out on Prime Day!
We see what you did there, Another Read Through!
Now Sam can listen and support their independent bookstore at the same time!
Bookstores are a safe haven and a place to connect. In a note to customers on Prime Day, Roxanne J Coady, the founder of Connecticut’s RJ Julia Booksellers (a Libro.fm partner bookstore), wrote:
“Do you enter our store, take a deep breath, and immediately feel more relaxed? Do you enjoy taking the time to wander aimlessly with the expectation of serendipity, leading you to the perfect book? Do you love that we actually answer the phone? Do you smile when one of our booksellers figures out exactly the book you were looking for, even if you don’t remember the title of the book or the name of the author?… We always have the right gift, or greeting card, for the occasion, and it’s an honor for us to introduce you to your favorite author during one of many (mostly FREE!) events each year. And, we LOVE every moment of it all…”
