We’re proud to offer our ALC Program for educators and librarians! We want to thank these groups for the roles they play in their communities and spread the word that anyone can support their local bookstore by purchasing audiobooks from Libro.fm.
Tell me more about Libro.fm.
Libro.fm is the first audiobook company to make it possible for you to buy audiobooks directly through your local bookstore. We provide a way for people to support their community regardless of location and the time constraints of modern life. When you shop local and support your bookstore through Libro.fm audiobooks, you’re putting money back into your community.
We’re proud to partner with 1,700+ independent bookstores and over 9,000 booksellers across the US, Canada, and abroad!
We’re also a Social Purpose Corporation, which means we pursue both social and financial goals in the for-profit context, even if those social goals may at times conflict with the corporation’s financial interest or shareholders’ financial interests. Basically, we aim to do good, even when it doesn’t necessarily financially serve us.
What are ALCs?
ALC stands for Advanced Listening Copy, which publishers provide at no charge to qualifying book lovers in the hopes that they’ll read and promote upcoming audiobooks. Here at Libro.fm, we offer ALCs to qualifying educators, librarians, booksellers, and influencers.
The audiobooks offered on a monthly basis are tailored to each group and handpicked from publisher nominations. We believe in promoting not only the audiobooks that everyone’s buzzing about, but also in uplifting marginalized voices within the publishing industry. We know that educators and librarians are often doing the work within their communities to help people read more diversely, and we’re excited to further facilitate that through our ALC program!
Who qualifies for ALCs?
Educators
Teachers or school librarians working with students between the ages of 5-18 are eligible for the educator ALC list. You’ll receive a half dozen audiobooks that publishers think you’ll want to use in your classroom or recommend to parents and students.
Librarians
American Library Association (ALA) individual and organization members are eligible for the librarian ALC list. The monthly list will help inform your buying decisions of audiobooks, print, and eBooks.
How do I apply?

Hi,
I just signed up for Libro.fm ALC as I was referred by a colleague at my school. I’m super grateful for this free resource. A question I’m wondering is if there is a way to access previous titles. Specifically, my colleague loved listening to Stamped, as featured in a prior month. Is there a way for me to access this title for free with my teacher account?
Thanks,
Liz aceti
Hi Liz, Thanks for joining our educator ALC program! It is not possible to access titles from past months for free. Thanks for checking in!
Good morning,
Are teachers and librarians still able to join the free ALC program?
Thank you,
Christine
Hi Christine, yes teachers and librarians are still able to join our ALC program. You can request access here: https://libro.fm/alc-program
I am a high school librarian. My question is how do I get access to the audiobooks to our students? Thank you!
Hi, Amy! Please reach out to us at sales@libro.fm, and we’d be happy to help!
